Video-codec and HDR patents for InterDigital against the TV businesses of Hisense and TCL, the European front of a campaign that also runs in the United States, Brazil and India. The asserted patents cover HEVC, VP9 and AV1 compression as well as high dynamic range.

In August 2026 the campaign was extended to VP9, with fresh UPC claims arguing that Disney's switch to that codec still infringes, and a damages claim of €101.7 million followed in September 2026.
